Today, puppy #2, female, started to open her eyes. As of this writing, each eye is about half way open. This is the pup that began nursing immediately upon birth, before her umbilical cord was severed. Also, today, a couple of the pups (#5, #3) have graduated from just pushing themselves around the whelping box to beginning to support themselves on their legs. It's pretty funny to watch them try to stand and walk, still with eyes closed. They toddle a few steps and then lose their balance and fall over -- perhaps mama's milk has fermented and they are drunk! Hopefully, I will get some video of this to post tomorrow. Toenails on Farmdogs -- already growing and in need of a trim. Thank you, daughter, for dropping in and clipping toenails! Last night weights were between 22-24 ounces.
P.S. -- I have scheduled this litter for evaluations by Pat Hastings the first week of December.
