Kennel Flora is pleased and proud to announce the arrival of FIVE beautiful and robust FARMDOG puppies (3 male, 2 female) on October 12 between 8:55 PM and 11:00 PM. Ruby's labor and deliver was perfectly "textbook" and probably the easiest litter ever born to Kennel Flora. She was calm and happy throughout -- even wagging her "happy tail" on and off throughout the process. (People who know Ruby will understand the tail thing.) Ruby's maternal instincts are wonderful and I did not need to interfere in the delivery (other than suctioning noses and mouths). All pups gravitated immediately to the teat. Puppy #2, a female, was barely out of the birth canal and Ruby had just broken the sac when she latched onto a teat. I have never witnessed a pup so quick to the teat! Her umbilical cord was not yet severed! All puppies very consistent in size, the smallest weighing 7.25 ounces and the largest, weighing 7.75 ounces -- such a consistent litter -- no runts and no hulks! This is a very colorful litter taking after their father, Frisco. ALL have black and tan tri-color markings with well-defined eyebrows and cheeks -- just like dad! THANKS to Tonya Jensen for coming over to photograph. Enjoy the photos and come back often as I will be adding more as the pups grow. AND THANKS TO RUBY for her timing!!! Ruby timed her estrus cycle just right -- the week she was in estrus was the only possible week I could have taken off work this summer to drive 1800 miles across the country to mate her to Frisco. Ruby timed her delivery just right -- I must take off on a business trip next Tuesday for 4 days, and I was worried my husband would have to deliver alone. Ruby, you are such a good girl. This litter includes puppies #101, #102, #103, #104 & #105 US-born Farmdogs. Congrats to Frisco & Ruby!
